New vacation policy?

I heard that the new vacation policy is based on hours worked......does it roll over every year? What is the max accrual (is it based on tenure)? Can we still sell it back to off set medical insurance costs?

Im sure they'll be quick to communicate this well in advance, like they announced the changes to our "merit pay increase" that many were excluded from due to hours worked and/or where you are on the pay scale. (Sarcasm!) Btw, we're not allowed to know where we are on the payscale.

Clap, clap SEA - you have finally managed to f--- over everyone and turn your entire workforce into enemies, rather than allies.

This is bull c-ap I've gave and gave to this company and all they care about is themselves I find it ironic that these new rules do not apply to them you should lead by example and you should be ashamed of themselves the biggest mistake I ever did was borrow the 800 million and go on the stock exchange because all the Board of Trustees care about is what goes into their pockets and nothing else they don't care if you had a good year or bad year they want the prophet and it keep wanting more and more and more everyday without any regard to what it's doing to the company and the employees I've worked for this company for 20 plus years and broken my body down for this company and this is how they repay us .

Official announcement at BGT that no vacation time can be used to offset the cost of medical starting next year. Standby for new vacation earn policy. I hope they did their homework with retention for employees that have earned more time off. I also look forward to the Trojan horse they will offer to help folks feel at ease whither he new policy transition........”but wait,we will give you some time in January”.

So you won’t be able to take a weeks’ paid vacation until perhaps March, depending on how long you’ve been with the company.

And forget about getting sick-everyone will come to work and get the rest of their co- workers sick.

Many people in Florida take off in February because that’s when the kids get their school break.

And this only affects hourly employees.

On the other hand salaried employees will now have unlimited time off. How is that possibly fair? But they are not advertising that during these meetings, are they?

We need to fight back somehow. Maybe get a petition going.

Plus they’re announcing it halfway through the year. What about people who already have made plans for next year?

Have THEY announced what “transition” time they will be issuing in January? All the signs are pointing to a significant reduction in available “Personal time off”,all of the senior folks that have vested time are being reset. You can dress up the pig and say that senior people will earn time quicker, but look at the big picture folks.......what else are THEY able to TAKE from you? I’m not a lawyer, but I’m pretty certain that these announcements or “on notice” meetings are to satisfy checking a box and not to facilitate transition into practice. All employees are being treated like s---ers.

New accrual vacation policy confirmed for BGT and AI starting in 2020. All vacation, optional holiday, and sick time will be PTO. Vacation sell back for benefits is ending as well.

Expect layoffs in August.

No one said anything about anything being taken that they currently have. They are switching to a new system so everyone will start at 0 next year and earn as they go. Nothing in the current system rolls over year to year anyways so yeah.
