Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Anyone else’s manager acting rude and like they don’t give a care

I tried to assist my manager I get the shaft. Very rud lt in front of other coworkers. I ask a question and pretty much she tells me to figure it out myself. ReallY? Decades of dedication and hard work and now making me feel like c-ap. So what do I do? Just lay me off so I can have a break before I have a breakdown.

The toxic managers brought in from other financial institutions (where, assumedly, they were shown the door) are evil, soulless and incompetent. I’ve witnessed an entire department go from a supportive, competent work group to an every-man-for-himself, leaderless, bumbling team.

You must work in Markets Legal in NY. Absolutely the worst and most incompetent manager in the legal department, which says a lot considering how rude and condescending some of the other managers are to the underlings.

My immediate manager is fine with me, but other managers dont even say hello when I do. They just stare like your crazy for speaking to them. It's actually pretty laughable that they believe they are so high and mighty. I have had positions in the past at or above their level. The current markets with mergers can humble you when you have to start over. I dont think their ready for that lol

I’ve been following this site for 5 months. In that time, it’s glaringly obvious that BNYM’s toxic environment shows no signs of improvement and instead, worsens by the day. I’m sorry to say, but don’t expect things to get better anytime soon. Try to find strength from within. Take it one day at a time.

Sounds like your manager is as unhappy as you are. Maybe she’ll get laid off, or leave.

I'm sorry you're being treated in that manner.

Some days I wonder if this is an asset management firm or really some government experiment we all unknowingly signed up for during benefits enrollment. Spoiler - we're being monitored on effects of coping with extreme amounts of constant stress. We are being flagged as group A, B, C etc. Group A - those who walk away. Group B - those who reserve themselves to minimal work to maintain their mental wellbeing. Group C - those who work above and beyond only to burn out...and so on.

Hang in there! Please know that many of us understand your struggles and sympathize. It will take time to rebuild self confidence and trust after being in a toxic environment like our company. Be well my anonymous friend.

I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, this is what our CEO wants. Despicable.
