it has been a long time since the railroad unions were powerful enough to do anything. over the years they made deals with the devil at the expense of the younger generations until they became virtually obsolete. most of the real protections you have now such as FR and UR are federally mandated. the unions may have had some involvement in getting it, but they exaggerate their contribution. any talk of any sort of a strike in this era is immediately met with laughter as it should be. yes, the last time the union went on strike the president immediately brought everyone back to work, and after that the union just gave up.
there were no major lawsuits filed over the unions right to strike or any fuss made by unions in the media. just ok boss back to work and we'll never strike again and we apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused. oh and thank you Mr. CEO for the employee pride locomotive as president of the union i'd like to be the first one to ride and may i say how what a good job you're doing.
