Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Toxic Work Environment @ HO

I quit Walmart recently. Was employed there for 3 years after college. Now am with a different employer. I'm much more peaceful, less stressed out, have a better pay and life.

Over there, I was headed towards total misery.

Is it just me, or is the HO(ISD included) just a crazy toxic place to work? Have others felt the same?

if you want to survive, simply self-identify as a trans-xual, person of color, the social justice warriors who run the place will go wild with joy. Executives will get their 15% of their incentive bonus when they promote you. It is the only place that I have ever worked in which I observed assaults on other associate, threats of other associates, and organized spying of other associates. Lots of people know all about this, they simply look the other way when it happens. Sort of reminds me of another place from history where they had extermination camps.

Congratulations, you left the Bentonville Brownnosers club. The part about the HO that truly is despicable is their HR department, who basically cover aes rather than do the appropriate thing. You see everything there racism, s-xism, ageism, plagiarism, and yes kiss-aism, and you managed to get out of a true sh*thole.

You're not crazy...extremely toxic and filled with scared little brownnosers. Great move

I left ISD in Sept 2017 after 10 years. It was toxic for at least my last 3-4 years there. They were gutting entire departments. Ageism was rampant getting rid of the older associates. The writing was on the wall and I left. I did get a better paying job and like the OP, my next job was less stressful, more relaxed and I was having fun at a job again.

I left before the rank and yank took effect. Once you have that target on your back, you may as well polish up your resume and start looking. I heard one associate had medical issues and got targeted and was termed with 60 days to find a new job within the HO. They turned around and filed for STD and got it. Then filed for LTD. They got it. WM has to pay 75% of their salary and their benefits for life!

I am hearing that the HO can't get high quality hires anymore because of their reputation. And that the good people they having are fleeing in droves. I'd like further confirmation on these two. Those that do hire in ISD, get some experience under their belt and leave for greener pastures. Those that stay are hoping against hope they can actually retire.

I worked on the store level for a number of years, have been gone for a few, and feel ever so much better. So much so I didn't realize how bad it was on me til I left. We occasionally hear and read stories about employees snapping off and hurting and even k--ling people there. After what I experienced I well understand why.
