Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Things get better after Dell - much better

I left Dell a year ago. I now have company-paid health insurance, a free transit pass, and a kitchen full of food that I don’t have to pay for. My paydays are now the 15th and end of every month instead of every other Friday. My rate went up a bit, but not having to shell out for a HSA and sub-standard insurance, along with all the other weird things Dell deducted from my check, I’ve come out way ahead.

You must realize that being paid every other week means 26 paychecks, whereas being paid 2x/month means 24...

If a kitchen full of junk food is a big thing to you then your in the wrong field or just not a strong player and need to look at yourself. Free food at work is nothing. As for being paid every Friday... were you a contract employee???? Dell never paid every week for regular employees and while I think the company is ran by greedy asshats it did have decent benefits. I would though NEVER work for them again.
