Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

It is true about the severance package not being what UOP led us to believe it would be. Taxes took a HUGE portion of the severance check. The medical insurance that was to continue for a couple of months after the layoff is a joke. One week after the layoff we had no insurance coverage what so ever. We were to wait for the COBRA paperwork to arrive in the mail, which was 17 days after the layoff. All paperwork was filled out and sent back the next day. Meanwhile a couple of doctor appts. and a handful of prescriptions later all being paid out of pocket, COBRA has yet to receive our paperwork and insurance coverage is for December and January...December is pretty much over. And for all of us who received any type of severance, keep in mind the laid off employee had to sign some type of an agreement not to sue UOP in order to get the severance package. Oh, one more pisser about all of this...my spouse received "performs above expectations" on the last two reviews. WTF??
