Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

I agree that one should do their job

I agree that one should do their job. However, that won't prevent a person from a layoff. If one listens to the news, reads online blogs and articles, or watches television news programs then one will realize that good performers as well as poor performers become victims of layoffs. As a matter of fact, my brother was laid off from an aerospace company for 2-3 years and he was an excellent employee worker. The company replaced him with a younger worker. The company reached out to my brother after three years, giving him his job back, his time, and a raise because they realized no one does his job as well as he does. The only reason I know that because I met his boss in passing while I was shopping one weekend and the boss said terrific things about my brother's work and the employer's mistake in laying him off. The same situation happened to a coworker at another organization I used to work at. However, that person decided not to take the company's offer to give him his job back. Even more, I have a friend who attends my church that works at the unemployment office in my state and she is observing that companies are beginning to slowly revert back to hiring older workers or trying to re-hire those that were laid off because some of the good employees were terminated with the poor performers. With this in mind, those who were quick to judge everyone who was laid off in Novemer 2010 as poor performers should be prepared to lumped in as a poor performing individual when the next round of lay offs occurs. As I was informed, management anticipates enrollment to continue to trend down over the next year. For those individuals with those extremely critical post demonizing the layed off workers as "losers" -- BE PREPARED FOR YOUR LOSER SPEECH SO EXPLAIN WHY YOU WERE A SO CALLED POOR PERFORMER. MAYBE YOU WON'T BE SO QUICK TO JUDGE THE UNEMPLOYED THEN!!!!
