Instructors worthy of the name quit CCI the moment they find enough work to pay the bills. Unfortunately, in this economy one has to take whatever job one can find but $1,500 for a course doesn't go very far. The vast majority of CCI instructors consider it as a throw away job.
As far as expecting new about events coming in the next few days then consider all the information given highly suspect. You are going to have SLOWLY unwinding events of firings and school closures. You most likely will NOT hear of MASSIVE layoffs and LARGE number of school closures at any one moment in time.
CCI will do the absolute MINIMUM to obtain the MAXIMUM possible profits.
Other states will take the lead of California and deny CCI access to state financial aid consisting mostly of grants. CCI will shut down the worst programs in terms of enrollment and inability to meet accreditation guidelines.
It is all about looting the store. You won't see ONE massive shutdown unless everything gets put up for sale at one time. If CCI assets presumably real estate are sufficiently valuable to sell it all off and give everyone at the top a nice severance package then that might be possible. Unfortunately, CCI already sold off most of the Heald properties along with trying to sell off 2 Wyotech campuses. I don't know if CCI is renting or owns most of the Everest Campus real estate.
