I have a situation in my company right now where certain level positions simply have to have MBA degree - now we have a number of folks internally who would have gotten the position had it not been for this rule. Almost all of them are doing for-profit online MBA degrees at night - they really have no other use for it, but they are still doing it. Stupid, but real...
