Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Yes, expect a reduction in force sometime soon

Yes, expect a reduction in force sometime soon. I know several individuals that either work or had worked for UOP, and the consensus is the same; layoffs to save monies. The group of people release approximately 18 months ago are proof of this, and included is those individuals making six figures. Believe me when I say that there are many counselors that are genuinely concerned about their students. Years ago they (UOP) had done away with a matrix system that the government did not like, and this is with all online schools. However, UOP made changes to meet those concerns that the gov’t was unhappy with. Today there is no matrix, at least not stated on paper, but made understood by the company. When the prospect of being laid off is presented that numbers game is laid out before them as a way to get them digging in and enrolling further students. I can only believe this is done out of survival to enroll those who are not committed to their education, or are just not ready for school that gives UOP a bad rap. UOP is not a bad education, but their practices concerning employees is not the best from what I have heard.
