The likely outcome is that everyone runs to the fire exit meaning that student enrollment drops 30% or more in a couple of quarters. Once that happens then the gig is up.
You can fool some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
CCI was run into the ground for the past decade. CCI got a boost during the beginning of the great depression with people going to Everest, Heald and Wyotech thinking they could get a good paying career.
The economy has never really recovered and the students worthy of the name were enrolled in community colleges and state universities. The end result is that you probably have almost an entire decade of unemployed CCI graduates.
Heald is getting clobbered when the admission representatives go to their target high schools. The high school seniors are told by recent Heald graduates that the diploma is worthless in the job market. When you go to the movie theaters and find out that the cashier making minimum wage is a Heald graduate that graduated from your high school a couple of years ago then you know the gig is up.
CCI may very well decide to simply sell off its assets and go out of business. Selling Heald properties for $40 million was a smart move because realistically I don't think Heald is going to complete the 15 year lease at $3.5 million a year.
Expect the CCI "big whigs" to have a "big pow wow" in the not too distant future. The smart play might be to simply liquidate the business.
One thing is pretty obvious. CCI won't be able to support all the people making the high end salaries while expecting the faculty to work more and more hours for less and less pay.
