Heald Faculty are getting pressured to get involved in "student retention". More and more classrooms are being converted to "Student services offices" (SSOs) to demonstrate true "corporate values". One instructor who complained to administration was total the brutal truth "This is a business and not a school. Education is secondary. Instructors are at the bottom of the food chain. Administration first, sales people second, office people third and finally last and being least are the instructors. Instructors exist to service the sales and administrators resulting in new services to be provided by the faculty. It is more important to have warm bodies in the seats versus actual education."
