Is there any more information about the upcoming layoffs? I believe Apollo Group/UoP is currently in the process of buying off HLC and the DoE so the likelihood of accreditation probation is extremely slim. And why not? This is America where whoever can't be bought off, can be knocked off (figuratively speaking only). Yet this buyoff may avert layoffs and allow the company to continue . . . Yes, it will continue ripping off its employees and students but there will be no further oversight from any agency for the next ten years so this may reduce fears of more layoffs. However, with lower enrollments and the company offering "discounted" tuitions to certain students, layoff may still be on the horizon. After all, the Apollo Group and University of Phoenix executives still need to skim their $100,000-plus monthly salary and million dollar yearly bonuses while reducing employee salaries and benefits as well as student services and campus operations.
