Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Why on earth would anyone want to continue to work there? Do you not get tired of walking into work every day wondering if and when you will be laid off? Do you not get tired of seeing your stock fall from $86 a share to $19 a share? Do you not get fed up with people sitting in the cube right next to you making 75k plus while doing half the amount of apps and regs you do now only because you missed out on many years of the matrix? Do you not get tired of seeing your VPs and leaders take tons of vacations and driving in 80k plus cars while they tell you the company can't afford raises? Do you ever get tired of being told you can't hold friendly competitions, yet get disciplined if your enrollments are down? Do you not get tired of the fact that UOP doesn't even offer a retirement plan? What are you going to do when they lay you off? Don't you like to feel like you have no control over your career or life? Do you really think Joe D, Cheri S, or Bill P are going to save your job because you are such a great employee when the company needs to down size? It is amazing to see so many weak minded people here just sitting around waiting to be disposed of by UOP. There is so much more out there in the world! Why do you sit around and subject yourselves to working for a company with such instability? Why, because you "make too much to quit"? What do you think is going to happen when they eventually lay you off? One day you will have to learn how to start over, the question is why are you not doing it on your own terms while you have the opportunity to before you are forced too. UOP will never be what it was. This company is a sales company without the sales compensation. GCU is swallowing UOP alive now. Take control of your lives and go find a company that actually values and appreciates their employees.
