Thread regarding L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. layoffs

@ Fred - I'm not going to waste any more time on your myopic rants. I said four postings ago that the problem is much deeper. L-3 CSW has had the benefit of a monopoly for years and grown fat and complacent feeding the Pentagon's hunger for high cost, low volume toys thru the last two wars. Rather than look for ways to expand their market into a growing commercial ISR market that was worth over $15 Billion last year we chose to believe it was dead. Now the FAA has begun to approve UAV's for use in domestic airspace. Last year CSW gave the store to Thales and Harris by "partnering" with them. I wouldn't be surprised to see the division broken up and sold off, with the "waveforms" groups being picked up by Lockheed or another competitor of Northrup. Until they learn how to make a profit selling hardware, all those beautiful CNC mills and assembly lines are just contributing to increasing losses, on higher or lower sales volume. Corporate has the cash flow to support the ISR portion of the business long enough to turn it around. The question is, does anybody in Building A have a plan?
