I probably should have stayed and been laid off... accrued more vacation time to be paid off and received my "generous" severance package of a week's pay per year worked (other companies do a month per year - cheapskates!). But instead, I leaped at the chance when I was headhunted by a rival company at a different university nearby. I am officially free from Follett, on my own terms. Out before they could shove me out the door.
Nobody at Follett counteroffered to keep me. Surprise, surprise.
