Are any of you aware that many of our "yearly performance appraisals" were downgraded (ie role model to advanced, advanced to proficient, and so on) from what our direct supervisors had rated us? A "very complicated" calibration process was conducted and in many cases, reviews were changed by individuals other than your direct supervisor. People whom you have never met, spoken to, or even worked with made the decision regarding what rating your performance review would reflect. Yep, talk about unprofessional and unethical.

You damn managers have been spineless pricks forever doing the dirty work for bone head directors now your taking it. enjoy you mofos
leadership were mandated to lower the appraisals. Those without courage did as told. Those that did not will be in the next layoiff. Barbie had her team tell you directors to do this. of course she is a role-model though
I just hope miss piggy is handcuffed and taken to jail and that troll student support services manager what a fugly scag.
@Anonymous7048 and others. Hope you're all keeping adequate "juice cards" for the time when more people are being thrown under the bus. The higher up you go, the greater the long-term risk. Clever people at every level are keeping notes and downloading files (a risk in itself). If they ask you to violate Dept of Education policies, you may not be protected unless you voice your concerns in writing and you have a record of it. If they tell you to make numbers at any cost, document that. But if you put your concerns in writing, you may also be a target from those above you. At this point, we're only talking about people losing jobs; in the future (six or ten years from now?), it could be about people being paraded in handcuffs.
I know several employees who have gone to HR over this, as well as to "top line leadership" with concern regarding the process. You would be disgusted if I told you the things that have been said by regional leaders and HR reps regarding the process and the employees who are speaking out. I would love to share, but I would not want to put myself or these other employees in jeopardy.
@camdenkid, I couldn't agree more. Lackluster reviews make it easier for UOP to lay you off or fire you. Additionally, the measly raises we are receiving this year were affected and decreased by the downgrade of the employees performance reviews.
This is the kind of crap that should be investigated and all employees should DEMAND that they are not evaluated again until the old regime is removed. Stand up for yourselves and your fellow employees. Ask your manager today. If we all do this, they will leave us all alone.
As someone who conducted reviews here is what happened: I gave each of my employees a rating. I was then instructed to change some of my employees ratings due to "calibration". When I asked how these decisions were made, NO ONE could provide me with a reason. I had to go back in to the review system and change my desired ratings for some team members based on the insight of ??? So, you can't see what your actual appraisal was because the review you signed was your appraisal. What you won't know is what your original appraisal produced by your ACTUAL supervisor read. If I were you, I'd ask my supervisor if my review was affected by calibration and DEMAND more information on this.
How do we get access to the modified "performance appraisals"? I know what my performance appraisal was when I signed it but how can I get access to what is REALLY recorded in the system?
I called out campus management for my crap review and the moron in charge couldn't give me a rationale for my rating. By the way, why do EAs put up with this nonsense? Ask yourselves this question: Do traditional universities have weekly one-on-ones with their counselors? Why does this happen in a school that derives most of its revenue from the federal government? This should not be allowed to happen. Time to blow the whistle on these fraudsters.
It's much easier firing someone who has a "standard" record. So if APOL/UoP plans on throwing people under the bus (and I'm sure it does), they can't make anyone below them look too good on paper. Even if you aren't documenting, those above you sure are.
