What supplies are short? How is this impacting the students? Why don't some former students call Mr. Kusic?
I feel sorry for those instructors who have tried to keep Wyotech-Blairsville a worthwhile program of instruction. And I appreciate the person or persons who have had the courage to say something on this site.
I have some personal connections, having lived in Indiana County, having served in the military, and am currently teaching at a community college in Pennsylvania (offering less expensive, good quality vocational programs to working-class people, including vets). Please let me or Sam Kusic know when you feel it's worth letting the local public know about the situation.
The last start was down by 100 I can only image what the place is like with the numbers getting worse by the day. Students dropping out by large numbers after attending for a few weeks once they see the real deal. Someone needs to step up and tell the truth but that someone will be on the hit list. Hang in there staff its only a matter of time.
The fear of reprisal is to great at Blairsville. The campus president, campus vice president, DOE, and A DOG will destroy what is left of your career at wyotech. The campus president is WELL KNOW for holding grudges. It's not worth it at the moment.
How are the Instructors teaching students if there is a lack of supplies? Blairsville is an automotive school. Aren't the majority of your students hands-on learners? I am sure that you can accommodate them in the classroom environment but what happens in a shop environment? How are you being told to compensate for this lack? Are you forced to make excuses to students for the company not supplying the proper educational items? That would seem to be a problem. This company appears to be in such dire straights. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that you are given cardboard cutouts of wrenches and such to work with. You seem to be a sincere educator, concerned about your students. Just like your students, you need a voice, someone to carry your flag, an advocate. Any takers? If so, please contact dahnshaulis@gmail.com
It's getting bad at Wyotech-Blairsville, but is anyone talking to the media about this? I understand your fears about Art Herman and other administrators at Wyotech, but things will only get worse if no one speaks up. Sam Kusic at the Indiana Gazette has told me several times that he is willing to publish something about Wyotech (and with anonymity), but no one has had the courage to step up to the plate. (People at other schools like University of Phoenix have actually given their real names to me (but I have avoided using their names in public discussions). Call Mr. Kusic at 724-465-8224 (x-264) or 724-454-8224 (cell phone). Mr. Kusic's email is samkusic@gmail.com. There are also anonymous email sites that can forward your emails with less of a chance of detection.
