UOP vs. CCI

CCI seems to be melting down and UOP is still doing fairly well (from the stock value perspective). Can someone help me understand why UOP is doing so much better?

Also CCI is not as necessary in a good economy, since the students can get the same or similar jobs without the nine months of CCI education. Of course there are some exceptions, such as Pharmacy Tech and Massage Therapy where some states require licensing.

So many reasons, including: Quality of student population; financial resources of student population; quality of education (UOP>CCI, as difficult as that may seem to believe); quality of management; level of cash; reaction to changes in regulations; reaction to changes in student needs; types of programs offered; success of former students; the list goes on and on.

The type of student that CCI attracts is either minimally employed or unemployed. UOP attracts quite a few students who simply need a degree to advance at an established employer, and that's not so common at CCI. Given a mandatory choice between UOP or CCI, which one would you choose and why? It's so much easier to justify $60k Bachelor degrees when you actually are employed versus $15k diploma/certificate programs when you are unemployed, or earning under $400 a week. Unfortunately $15k is "a lot of money" to those who are attracted to CCI, generally earning under $400 per week smoking cigarettes with kids at home, but $60k is not as much money to those who are attracted to UOP. Thus UOP has the stronger customer (student) base.
