Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Now to make matters worse for the students, the ones that decided to stay in class will not receive any books until about the 2nd week.

And this is even for classes that meet 2 times a week for 4 hours each meeting.

Oh crap. These kinds of hiccups are just unacceptable! If CCi weren't in its current situation, people would be more forgiving of something like this. But right now, every detail matters. It's disappointing.

So, it's a $$$ issue? CCI can't pay the publishers? That can't be good.

the bookstores are run by a separate company. if cci doesn't have money to pay the bookstore company then why would the bookstore give out books for free? they'd go out of business too.

Didn't classes start this week, Low on Coffee? It's going to be tough to give assignments and grades if students don't have texts . . .

We have no copy paper and the bookstore suddenly has a "new policy" about not giving out books before the mod starts

Last term at least 1/3 of my students never even got the right textbook - or never got one at all.
