Layoffs? Noooooooo ...when the campus was given the news we were a teach out and close facility, ALL of Admissions and Finance were walked out along with several instructors and the receptionists. Not a lay off -- terminations to be exact. A few days later over 50 students were told they could no longer attend because they couldn't complete their programs by the actual close date. What burns my ass is the fact CCi continues to report to the media that All students will have the opportunity to complete. A BOLD FACE LIE. These students had no choice.

I worked a teach out. They may be planning on staying open for 2-4 for more terms, but they won't. I don't mean to sound like a downer, but it sucks. There's no employees left and student retention plummets worse than average. I had 5 out of 30 students within 4 weeks of the announcement of a teach out. CCI won't keep schools open for so few students. (It was not for a CCI scho, but it was a major competing for profit . Despite what people think, for profit campuses are tanking. In my metro are alone, they've closed UofP, Everest, ITT and a Strayer campus in the last 18 months)
Why are you saying that? Everyone has kept their jobs! Said the fools who haven't noticed any changes - and the dead silence from management!
Just smile and dial people! Everything is wonderful! Don't listen to the doomsdayers! Listen to the posters who are saying not a single thing has changed!!!
No. There were no terminations. No layoffs. Nothing. Everything is fine!! Business as usual!!!
I know it burns your ass. CCI is shitty in every way, but in this case they actually did the students a huge favor. CCI is so bad, these students are getting reimbursed 100% and they can go to school somewhere else.
You are correct, layoff is not in CCi's vocabulary. It is called position elimination. In other words, we are eliminating your position and your employment is no longer needed. You have 15 minutes to collect all personal items and will be escorted to the front door.
