Employee fired at EDMC for documenting repeated class cramming

Employee fired at EDMC for documenting repeated class cramming (putting more students in a class than could fit in the physical classroom space). Putting more students in a class than its capacity is a direct violation of the institution's accrediting body. Senior management aware of documented class cramming and over capacity issues for multiple years. Employee attempted to document the problem, asked repeatedly for senior management to correct the problem, reported the class cramming issue to senior management, and was fired for doing so.

I know a manager who received a verbal warning (step 1 of the firing process) for mentioning on a call (VP of online attending) that students were continuing to be recruited with major literacy issues, and that he was just delivering the message from his faculty he managed who were having problems reaching out to these students who were doing poorly in class.

Funny thing is, speaking frankly is actually considered to be a positive element in the performance review. The lesson is, tell the emperor his clothes look wonderful! :-)

a director was fired for trying to help employees who were about to be laid off too- this stuff doesn't surprise me anymore, the people running the show are all about their bonuses while employees and students get the shaft
