Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

CCi only put 85 schools "up for sale." That does not suggest that any campus will ever be sold.

Also there has been no SEC filing regarding discontinuing operations. Yes, there was a filing related to discontinuing/selling Heald, but the 85 were only "for sale." http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1066134/000110465914049394/a14-16284_18k.htm Please note that the 8-k filed on July 7, 2014 does not include any disposal costs. These school may be "for sale," but management is not filing the 8-k 2.05 disclosures, except for Heald. Furthermore, if all schools were to be sold or "teach out," at some point the company should change accounting methods, which must also be disclosed. These schools are only symbolically "for sale," basically if there is some greater fool, then of course CCi is willing to sell.

Very true, just because campuses are up for sale, does not mean someone will buy. It's a very challenging time for for profit education to purchase schools. Especially those that come with a stigma and having the AG on their radar. Be hopeful, but be smart.

Even if by some miracle they survive this crisis, it's the end. A company cannot survive without credit. Students still don't have textbooks! This is a college! Il and MN have frozen enrollments. Vets in CA can't enroll. Even if they want to, they could systematically be closed by states freezing then out.

You must not be an employee, or you would know that it has been indicated in all emails that if they don't sell, they go to teach out. And really, CCI isn't following the rules so that means they are not for sale. Read your emails from Jack. They are very clear.

I don't know if you noticed all the crap that's going down. If you are still holding out that CCI will survive, you need help. They have no credit and the only income is what students are bringing in. One of their largest schools has lost more than half of it's students since last term (in a month.) from 27,000 to 16,000. It may not be the 'plan' but CCI is going to have to close. They cannot afford to stay open. What do you think happens after 10 weeks?!?!! They close.

What difference does it make? Sold is the best option. They are closing if they don't. It's no secret. Teach out is closed, honey. And teach out and aren't due to DOE yet.
