Salary Changes

So...it seems that all staff will be affected by this salary change for the next 10 weeks.

Hourly - voluntary week off without pay, not able to use sick or vacation.

Salary - +$40,000 will take a 10% pay cut for the next 10 weeks...no option. This affects most of the academic staff...ie Program Chairs, Deans, Registrars, Librarians...all except instructors.

Full-time instructors - voluntary week off without pay, not able to use sick or vacation.

Adjuncts - not affected as they are on contract.

The first thing they need to do is get rid of those admissions representative who do nothing but sit on Facebook, Candy crush saga, YouTube, or on any of the other idiotic websites all day long. They also need to get rid of those bottom feeder admissions representative that make between $70,000 & $100,000 a year (you know, the ones that steal other reps students, and enroll students from prohibited states by having students use a reference's or parent's address instead of the physical address that the student lives at (ahem, Justin Green), or that walk their students through financial aid documents (thankfully one was just let go for this the other day and he was making bank). Maybe if they start weeding out these lazy and unethical employees the rest of us hourly employees won't be forced to take unpaid days off.

More math from a non employee. Glad we are getting schooled in the math about employees we do not care about.

Who gives a shit about the poor Directors? They can suck it with their overly high salaries to begin with!

Instructors can take off for a week? Who runs the class? Who does the Outreach?

For example, a director who makes $70,000 will lose $1362.10 in pay, which is $136 per week. The $50,000 person will lose about $100 a week. All of this is pre-tax.

Do they expect staff to give 10% less? Will staff be penalized for giving 10% less? Does that mean I can work 36 hours instead of 40?

For example, a director who makes $70,000 will lose $1362.10 in pay.

A program chair making $50,000 will lose $961.54 in pay.

All those single parents whos budgets are dependent on that money for college tuition, mortgage, car payments, insurance, medical, children, going back to school, etc. It's never a good time to loose money.
