Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

wishing ya'all the best...

I've been through this before... The perceived promises - which are actually misconstrued comments about possibilities. The doomsayers - who can find dismay in every possibility for hope. The liars - who do whatever they can to polish a turd so it can be sold at a premium. The victims - who once believed, but now are confronted with bleakness and can't find light. The deniers - who can't accept reality, so invent one that they can embrace and sleep well at night.

My friends, some will stay; most will go.

Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst... And what is the worst: looking for, and someday finding, another job?

We will all fare better than those who suffer in hopelessness in the slums of (insert your favorite third world shit hole here). And sadly, CCi - despite its deep flaws and transgressions - DID pull many people out of a cycle of poverty; but won't be able to do so much longer. I pray we fix public education so we stop this cycle of class/education stratification.

Good will prevail. In the long run, it always does.

That's the problem no one learns from history. Enron, Adelphia, Westwood college, MCI the one word that doomed them all "GREED". I was hoping that CCi would have been different. I remember the "I will" statements then I saw the ugly truth. Get as many students to start no matter what or else, no matter what it took! I hope all the for profit schools take a look at this business model and change.

I agree about all that you say about what's going on. But, this is corporate America. Enron failed when nobody said it could. Lots of businesses go belly up amid lies, promises, and false hope. The only reason CCI stayed afloat for so long is that it sold a viable product during a crap economy.
