Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Removing this employer from my resume.

It is highly embarrassing to have worked her. It has been less than a year for me so in fairness it was already a shambles when I got here. I had no idea until I started working what a circus of idiots this place was. I'm sure I'll be better off simply deleting this year of employment from my resume rather than explaining to potential employers that I had nothing to do with the madness.

Right. Right after I left Enron, I got a job at GM designing ignition switches. Wyotech hired me after that and here I am. Looking forward to the next step in my journey.

I have done some hiring of people from "damaged" institutions, and some candidates have been successful. Do polish the c.v./resume carefully. In addition, the cover letter cannot omit the current job entirely, but use this as a way to show your commitment to students. I always appreciate honesty here, and if a candidate is sincere, working for a tarnished brand does not necessarily preclude hiring, or at least a second interview. As the story of the downfall becomes more widespread, more insightful reporters will connect this to Wall Street and the world of capital/leverage than to the specific low-level employees at the colleges.

If you were there for less than a year, you can get away with it. I, unfortunately, was there for five.
