I'm sorry that people will be losing their jobs, including some friends, but I'm doing a bit of a happy dance. I worked for CCi for 3 years in AD, FA and CS and the things that company does to its potential students, current students and graduates is appalling. I was forced to enroll students who were not going to be successful, and ended up failing/dropping out. Now they owe. The CS department entered dubious placements for working interviews or health fairs. Then we wouldn't help that student anymore because they wouldn't count as a placement again. I am so glad to be out and CCi is getting what it deserves.

Although my tenure with CCi has been short-lived (2 years), I take exception to the majority of posts poking blame at the 'top brass' for unethical admissions tactics.
Shortly after my employment with CCi (less than one month in), I realized the campus was falsifying attendance, grades and placement records. Hmmmm....sounds familiar, doesn't it? I made a conscious decision to blow the whistle and blow it HARD! A risky move, but the only one I could live with.
Within several days, there was an HR investigation resulting in disciplinary action(s) throughout. I was assured that CCi does not condone unethical behavior. Now....do I believe that? NO. However, I can honestly tell you that I have NEVER participated in any unethical behavior at my local campus. And, if I'd seen it, I'd have taken out my trusty whistle again.
All it takes is for the local directors to take a stand and always do the right thing. There is no way the corporate brass would risk terminating employees for protecting applicants' interest and promoting students.
If you've allowed yourself to 'follow the leader' and enroll students unable to succeed, you need to take responsibility for your own actions. PERIOD.
In my short time there, I've seen the regional and divisional directors try to push their budgets on local campus directors all in the name of a bonus check.....and, I've seen "ball-less" directors bow down and do what they're told. The fault there lies with all.
I'm sad and happy too. There is nothing wrong with feeling both. I don't feel 100% sorry for people who couldn't see the writing on the wall years ago. I, as well as many others, got out. It was a difficult road but we did it and are much happier now. Take charge of your life people! You're letting CCI control your world? Pathetic.
I've long since left the for-profit business but have several friends still at EDMC and ITT who will likely be let go within the next year.
Regardless, I agree with the poster. The faster these schools self-destruct the better, because every student enrolled represents a potential ruined life. Employees, presumably, can find another job. The students, on the other hand, will likely never find their first.
If you work for a proprietary school, especially a bad one, you can't possibly be employed for more than a year without figuring out the excessive abuses of the industry. Either you completely buy into them and perpetuate the fraud (admissions/financial aid) or tolerate them for the paycheck (instructors and advisors). They are all complicit, and they are all legitimate targets.
How is someone force to enroll prospect. If you new the procpect was not good fit for the school could morals. Then second thanks for caring about your friends 14724. Guess you enjoy dancing on their sadness
14736 - you're obviously ESL, but even considering that your post is bad. I honestly have no idea what you are trying to say. Sorry!
This is sad when some say sorry to friends losing there job. Then saying happy dancing. This show how double face some people. They not worry about so call friends family and then not paying bills. So thanks for worry
