Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

So sad....

Heald was the bomb, in the old days when I worked there from '98 to '11. We were well- respected and graduates did get good jobs. Faculty were told that we didn't guarantee job placement, but rather lifetime job assistance for Heald graduates. I look at the Heald website now and it doesn't lie. You can click on the major, and it shows the completion rate, and the % of graduates that are placed. Completion within the 1 1/2 years varies between 48 to 55% and job placement around 80 to 85%. Unfortunately, as instructor we were not privy to how the tuition money was being used, and after the half dozen new CEO's and owners, you could see the writing on the wall. That's why I left. It's a real shame that they were bought out by CCI. Some of the earliest lawsuits were made before the 2009 sale; Heald should not have sold. I hope someone buys out Heald quickly before it closes permanently. But that could take months. It would be a shame to lose all the dedicated front-line workers at the campuses and penalize the students for choosing to attend Heald. To any employee who reads this, please do not wait until your campus closes. Be proactive; update your resume, and start applying for other jobs. If the school closes, you will feel better about yourself, having taken action. If the school doesn't close, you can read through your resume and feel better about all that you have accomplished. Either way, you're covered. There is no use crying or bickering, what happens in the next few days/weeks is out of your hands. Best of luck!

Thanks for the encouraging words. I still hope we don't close.
