I'm absolutely THRILLED with the fact that Everest is going down in flames. This is a disgusting company ran by roaches and bottom feeders. They have been defrauding the government out of tax payer money and RUINING most of it's students lives for years. They will enroll a convicted felon in a healthcare program knowing good and well NO FELONS can work in a doctors office, yet these sad people are left with 20,000 in loans that would have gotten them a 10.00 per hour job. The "education" is a JOKE. They charge you $3,000 for one class and you can literally go on Amazon.com and find that book for less than $5.00! Really? THE TEACHERS: Idiots teaching things they have NEVER done! The job placement consists of companies they paid to hire their students for one month! The companies get free labor! DUH! The students are rarely qualified to do anything after graduation except shovel dirt. Their degrees are WORTHLESS. ITS ALWAYS BEEN A HUGE SCAM! They prey on poor desperate people who have NOTHING going for them and NEVER will if they attended this "school". They lie and steal and I personally had a part in exposing them to my local newspapers! Every community college or university will tell you that you should run as fast as yo can from this scam and joke of a company! I'm going to keep watching this disgusting company if they sell to anyone to make sure this does not happen again! I'm sure the DOE will be watching as well! Im so HAPPY that these people have been brought down to nothing!

Some of you people are so inconsiderate and heartless its appalling. Just because someone chose to work for CCI or chose to attend school there gives you absolutely NO RIGHT to bash them. I can tell you I am a student at GR and it was NOT because I had nothing going for me. Our instructors were and remain to be some of the greatest, most caring people I know.. and believe me their knowledge is far from slacking. Just because some of the employees were bad, gives you absolutely no right to judge every employee. EVERY company has bad seeds, and every school has losers. Some of us have worked our asses off and are getting the shaft end.. while cowards like you sit behind a desk and place judgment. It's a shame there are such heartless people in the world.. but it's great satisfaction to know that myself and my instructors continue to be better than you everyday.
some of you instructors are an absolute joke. don't get me wrong, there are some decent instructors, but the majority are garbage. you think getting a ph.d at a bullsh*t online university would deem you as capable of teaching at a master degree level? did you even write a real dissertation?
I am so glad others are with me about grades. I open every assignment, read every thread, and look at every quiz. It's my job and what I'm getting paid to do. No, I don't want to do outreach, but again, my job. Nobody is getting a grade from me if they don't earn it. I earned mine. And if other instructors give away grades, they are immoral and sad. Shane on them. I worked hard for my degree. I'm not giving them out. I could not do that.
anonymous 18904 - I personally do not give students grades either. I know others do because I get hate messages from students that tell me other teachers don't grade as harshly, give them full points for what I would consider substandard work, and so on. That's how I know many others have no integrity or standards in grading. Meanwhile I get student evaluations that reflect my toughness (with warnings from the PD/PL that they need to improve) and my faculty evaluations reflect a high attrition rate. I get fewer classes as a result. However I will not lower my standards. I have integrity.
@Anonymous18904: I would never give grades that are not earned, but unfortunately there are a number of instructors that do. As a PL, I have personally seen it when reviewing and substituting for others. NOT ALL, but a good number give a student full or high numbers of points for work that is total crap. This shows that they either do not take the time review the assignments or do not want to have to perform much outreach. If they can get a student's grade to over 70% for a week, they do not have to do any calling or talisman entering. With that said, I agree the outreach duties have gone beyond ridiculous!! Focusing on numbers is the wrong thing to do. We should be focusing on providing the best educational experience to those students that are there for the right reasons, NOT AT ALL on those that do nothing week after week and seek no help.
As an instructor, I disagree with Everest Faculty - Computers. I've never given grades out so my students will like me. My students like me because I go out of my way to work with them, should they request it. I am respectful and caring. I want them to succeed. I never, ever would give a grade a student did not earn. I would quit before doing so. Why? Because I put myself through college and grad school by working full time. I worked my butt off. I'm not going to just give a race after the work I out into my education. I would quit first.

Me too! Most instructors are pressured into passing students so they can avoid the bad student reviews and crazy amounts of outreach to uncaring idiot students. They want to limit these robotic tasks of skype calling and documenting the attempts into an old system so they give students grades they did not really earn so that they are above the 70% cutoff for outreach. Then there are instructors that only see this as a paycheck and the less noise they make to admin, the more classes they are assigned.
