Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

I bet Durbin could meet this standard!

"So when Corinthian advertises on its website, www.mycareercounts.org/outcomes, “In 2012, over 69 percent of our 38,721 graduates found careers in their field of study,” this really meant that 69 percent of Corinthian graduates found a job that lasted as little as one day."

Probably 50% of my students work while in school. By that standard, they are just counting jobs they've already had.

077-that's always scared the shit out of me. I don't know how we've managed to operate for so long without employees being taken out. Our business model is pure evil and it's lying, cheating and stealing from day one, with big smiles on our faces. We actually ruin lives. We leave students without jobs and with tens of thousands of dollars in debt, with useless degrees.

37068: the more I hear about how poor our placement was, the luckier I feel that we haven't had any disgruntled ex-student shooters. Considering some of the environments we recruit from, we've really been playing with dynamite, haven't we?

After months of work and getting thousands in debt, I think I would be a little disappointed to find my career was only a day long.

"In contrast to Corinthian’s definition, a reasonable consumer would understand the promise of a career—consistent with its dictionary definition—to mean 'a job or profession that someone does for a long time.'"
