Outreach is very much tied to financial aid. Our company, as a profit-oriented company, has two reasons to want good retention. One is grad rate, which is reported as part of our consumer information and which our various accrediting bodies monitor. More importantly, especially now, is keeping the federal aid dollars that we get almost 90% of our revenues from. In an institution required to take attendance (most of our campuses, but I believe not Heald), a student must be dropped after 14 calendar days of non-attendance. The LDA is looked at in comparison to the financial aid payment period, and a determination is made as to how much Title IV money needs to be sent back to ED. If a student completed 52.5% of the term, 47.5% of his/her financial aid has to be returned. NOT good for our bottom line. A lot of what academics does is for financial aid purposes.
One form of Outreach DOES work with students regarding FA. Your outreach may not but one form does. Don't get your panties in such a wad about it

No. I sure don't. It just seems to me since you are so superior to us, you would have better ways to spend your precious, precious time than to tell us how much better you are than us. Because you and your troll pals and bullies sure love come here and tell us. Must be such fun to have that kind of time.

258, I am not the one sitting here acting better than. I'm a current employee who is looking for information. I am not being rude. But if you are so much better than us, certainly you have better ways to spend your time.

Not at all! They aren't even trying anymore. There used to be some moderately clever trolls. They all left because of the bullies. Not that I blame them. But you couldn't always spot them so easily. Now. Don't know anything.
Unfortunately the trolls seem to know more than employees.
