This should be concerning news for all of us - Android now has over 90% of global phone market share (new generation phones), and 60% of tablet market share, wow. Is really difficult to fight Android penetration especially within Asian markets. That's why we see layoffs at Microsoft.
The only hope to get back in the game is for Microsoft to look into the markets where they're more popular.
I saw a post today that Mexico has following market share by brand:
Samsung 26%, Apple 15%, Nokia (Microsoft) 14%, Sony 7%. So, it's doable - it looks like Mexicans really like Nokia products. So, grow market share, and layoffs should not be an issue for you.
