Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Funny that management is so interested in our posts

There have been a lot of clues (troll-like clues) that CCi management have been watching this board like hawks. The most obvious is the troll hijackings like the one that happened last night (for those of you who weren't on - the mods had to delete dozens of page-long nonsense posts). They always seem to increase dramatically when there's an intelligent post about Socle, and last night's attack seemed to be designed to push down and distract from "The Plan" Socle post. Maybe it hit too close to home. The funniest to me so far is Constitution Day. Every college that gets Title IV funds (Pell grants, etc) is required to have constitution-related educational programming on September 17th of every year. A recent ex-employee posted on September 16th that she had never heard of this requirement during her years at CCi, and several others agreed. management hastily put together a "mandatory" constitution assignment requirement and sent it to all instructors. Most couldn't open it and I doubt that many even bothered to try to do anything with it. So they are now watching this board to figure out what regulations they've been breaking!

You can spot the management, they always tell you this board is a waste of time, or just quit, or don't let the door hit you on the way out, etc. They are afraid, as they are types that will struggle for a new job, other schools will be looking for unethical behavior traits and they have most. that's why they keep reading this board and making attacking comments or "old news" comments. They are afraid and should be.

As an instructor on campus, I knew the Constitution Day work and assignments were available on the CCi internet and put out by the CSC Curriculum group. I think many campuses just wanted to do things their own way and not listen to the CSC curriculum folks. I was there when they gave instructors email accounts so we could access the CCi internet and get all the stuff we needed (syllabi, lesson plans, etc). Too bad your campus leadership never shared this with you. I'm not sticking up for the CSC -- the execs were/are greedy and enrolled students at any cost -- now they're finding the cost was too high. I know the Dept of Ed here in FL had to approve every course, learning objectives, outcomes, etc. and determine each course was academically appropriate for the degree program. We can only teach that curriculum -- I agree that the majority of enrolled students weren't ready for it.

It's hard to imagine any of our managers NOT reading this board. Because of our "too many chiefs" business structure, they really don't seem to have much to do. At least here in Tampa they spend a lot of their time socializing with one another. I can see normal staff not knowing about this site, since we come to work and are kept on task the entire time. But it would only take one manager finding it and all of them would know about it. This is probably where they spend a good chunk of their workday. I wonder if they're surprised at how unimpressive they are to us. I'm about to be hired into a management position myself. I can't think of one Tampa manager that I'd be willing to ever hire.

Keith B from online reads this as he has quoted the board during leadership meetings

I'm pretty sure it's management who are always posting about how all of us here are "bitter" or were fired or are on PIPs. Obviously, most of us aren't any of those things and we certainly have good reason to be disappointed in and critical of our employer. That would be obvious to most people, but not our managers.

Anonymous38620 -- Funnily enough, I saw KD (Socle) reading it on her phone at the DoubleTree recently. I wonder if she's the Super Troll from last night. It makes sense, since she's the head of Socle and the attacks always happen after certain Socle posts.

What regulations we've been breaking? Oh, I could point ED in a few good directions. For a start, ED, you need to use the audit function in CampusVue to find all of the students who have had attendance added or removed way after the fact and to look for backdated and deleted items in general. The attitude here has always been "if we remove it from CV it never happened."

Anonymous38618 -- It was just blocked recently, so I'm talking before about a week or so ago. I'm guessing they have it on their phones now, but I usually can't see those when I drop things off to them.

How is it on monitors if it's been blocked?

Hastily is right! This is the response one OP here got when he asked how to open the damn Constitution Day email -- "you're supposed to copy/paste the html code into a new announcement. the directions say to select all but that's incorrect. don't select the screen shots, just the code. When you click on "add announcement" it will convert the code as it should."

I won't name names, but I interact with quite a few managers on a day to day basis. So far I've seen this site on their monitors four times. And this was four different managers. They seem to be watching alright.

Trust me, you learn that CCi has been breaking a LOT of regulations when you move to a normal, compliant college. It's amazing that they've gotten away with it so long!
