The game is over, stuff like this will keep piling, lawyers smell blood and will continue to probe from all angles. Just look at what happened with Corinthian, we follow the same pattern, our lawsuits just lag a few months at most.
Missing their 10-k filing deadline and blaming the government seems like a pretty weak strategy. Also guaranteed to piss off some of the share holders and attract lawyers who file securities lawsuits.
You can sue any company any time for any reason. Usually its not directly for the stock tanking, it would be more to see if they did anything illegal or unethical, like I dont know, defrauding the government? Falsifying the student placements as a measure of success?
Well you can't sue a company for its stock tanking. Stock market is a gamble. But the real question is why edmc is in a Pissing contest with sec🐷
While they may be considered "ambulance chaser" they the client, there is a reason they do it, because it works. I doubt it would be strong enough to take down the firm, which is not the goal anyway, but it could cost them millions of dollars. Investors are pissed, and if you think its just a joke or frivolous law suite, then you get what you deserve. Listen, investors are real people, they spent their own small fortunate investing in a company that looks like it could not draw itself outside of a box. Meanwhile they have been promising things would get better and that nothing bad was going on and it was all everyone else's fault. The stock has dropped from 20 something to 1 dollar! So at the end of the day, money talks, bullshit walks.
This was already listed under 3 lawsuits thread.
Maybe nothing. One friend of mine in business dismissed all of these firms filing suits as ambulance chasers.
