There are a mass wave of arbitrary/supplementary position layoff that begin Monday and continue through Jan '15. Account services, Tele support, departmental services, credit services, project managers, DMs, RMs, remaining RSSMs, ft tech, assistant manager, supplementary distribution, drivers, internal vendors are all slated to go. Hope this helps!

There's not going to be a company-wide release naming all the specific locations and departments across the US that will be closed. Yeah, probably management at the nationwide executive level knows the big picture, but beyond that it's a fruitless guessing game. It's just like Anon39941 said, in that it will be announced to each location as it happens. The company already provided a nationwide press release nearly a year ago informing the general public of store closings in the hundreds. Another company-wide release in May detailed additional departmental areas under consideration for downsizing beyond retail stores. Yeah, it IS as stressful as shit to keep working for a company when you feel that it's only a matter of months (if not weeks/days) before an announcement is made regarding your job being eliminated. Best way to look at it is if you've decided to stay until the last day the company will allow you work (assuming you get sufficient advance notice of the actual layoff date), just enjoy the days you've got left before the announcement is made. Start getting your ducks in a row (info for filing for unemployment, activating contacts for new jobs, getting contact info from your fellow workers if you haven't already re: passing along job prospect info) now, and just begin the transition process. Whatever happens, don't panic. It's wasted energy.
An emergency closure is one that is introduced and concluded in less than normal amounts of time due to operating profit requirements. Usually this means no sell off, short to no warning for current staff, and an immediate exit of their retail/services/logistics environment.
What's an emergency closure?
Im at the point wehre I just wish they would make the announcements, tell us if we are effected, and we can all digest the news and move forward. The silence is nerve wracking.
The real question is who knew about that ? I just heard and I usually know before most...
Is anyone else just have the feeling of impending doom looming over them? I feel the upper food chaing knows more but just not letting anyone know anything. I would feel better if they addressed our concerns or even ask if we have any. Losing a job is / thought of losing a job is very stressful for everyone.
i have to agree with 39941, who i think i work with lol, it's all happening, it's like ebola, you don't see it everyday, doesn't mean lives aren't ruined and that you're not at risk.
why LOL? that's not cool man.
yep, i heard this as well, sources are limited right now but no need to worry, just wait until they give you your term notice lol. I remember when we leaked the assistants were getting let go and there was so much speculation regarding its veracity, we're just trying to pay the kindness they ought to. also don't be ridiculous it's not like this will go company wide they are trying to maintain control through transition, it will just be quietly executed location to location into you get the memo in your email and your boss says, "sorry chum." But seriously the only leaks i have seen on here that were bad were the ones under consideration and some admin jumped the gun and posted it before it was ever stamped.
Where did you get this?
Also an emergency 75 closures and the cessation of a shipping facility in the NW.
