Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Why is there no plan for a turnaround?

Maybe because many of the loyal employees are long gone? Maybe because Santa Ana really does lack administrative capacity? Would you trust your Federal financial aid to Socle?

Ah, verification. I am amazed at what you guys let pass. For non financial aid people, there are checkboxes on the FAFSA form for the benefits programs (like SNAP). So, zero income, zero assets (means not even one dollar in cash) and no benefits checked, but you're claiming you support 6 people? At Socle, they don't even question it. Approved and here's the money! It seems like it's less a financial aid center and more of a sweatshop.

Trust me, everyone here is too busy trying to push money through at all costs to keep up with the regs. I was moved twice because I was "too picky" when I did verification or quality control.

i remember when Socle didn't realize that regulations had changed and you couldn't keep counting 40 hours of externship as 120 hours (like classes - it's assumed that for one hour in class you spend 2 hours studying). Anyway, we had to scramble to get to all the students and have them sign a new enrollment agreement so CCi could still get their full year's worth of financial aid. the externships were extended, and students had no choice unless they wanted to come up with thousands in cash. As it turns out, there were notifications of the change for over a year before it went into effect. Socle is absolutely incompetent.

There's no turnaround plan because there isn't a way to come back.
