So what's the re-hire policy for those that get laid off? Is it never, 1 year wait, or some other wait time til rehire? I know, sounds crazy to want to get back but believe it or not the economy sucks and for me, at least, I could really use my old job back until something better comes along. Work is work, at L-3 you just grin and bear it.

You can be hired back at any time. You don't have to wait a specific amount of time. If new programs are won, they will need to hire again.
Oh yeah, that's right, they deleted several HR policies pertaining to furloughs and mass-layoff policies right before November, 2012, when they began 2 "mini-layoffs" over the winter then the big one in April 2013. Those HR policies are like stamping a "guarantee" on a box of brake shoes, you could take a shit in a box and put a guarantee on it in the same way and both would be worth the same thing in the end. Just ask Tommy Boy!!
Have you not learned that they make new or alter existing policies as needed. To rehire, fire, transfer, bully or just plain cover their asses.
Do you have friends in the right places?
Someone was laid off from my department and re-hired in another position months later.
