So with our furlough time, we are being directed to use the time/labor code for Voluntary Time Off. I feel like we are being set up to be terminated "for cause" by falsifying a time sheet. If we use this code will this jeopardize our ability to get unemployment later? What if we refuse to enter false info? Is this insubordination?

time cards for EUO Online have been changed, we are to choose the Furlough option instead of VTO when inputting the unpaid hours
987, If the company is having difficulty paying those who are employed, why do you think the company would be able to pay those who are unemployed?
Remember that CCI has the ability to fight unemployment. They have to pay part of it, so it's unlikely they won't.
To be clear, yes, I can file for the week, but the first week pay is $0. If I claim the week and there is another furlough in the future, then I can get paid for the second week. Also if I file it starts a 52 week clock. If CCi makes it long enough, filing today could actually hurt my future benefits, but filing today could also get the waiting period out of the way. No easy answer.
I checked the manual, there is a one week waiting period, at least in my state.
Yes you can get unemployment for one week. It won't come for another couple weeks after that but at least the little bit of extra money will help out. Remember when the center closed for the Waldo Canyon Fire? A message went out from AK to all employees that if the center had to be closed for more than 3 days we could file for unemployment. Don't believe me? Call the unemployment office.
I think OP was worried about getting fired and then getting unemployment after that.
You cannot get unemployment for a single week. You could start the clock and claim it as your waiting week, however. Just be aware that game has its problems too. There is no easy asnwer.
What 806 says.
No, it's not going to change whether you get unemployment. Keep a copy of the furlough email and your timesheets.
