Edeleman public relations firm shows how they work

Nice company you hired Follett. I guess this shows the new Follett values:

http://grist.org/climate-energy/pipeline-builder-advised-to-gin-up-fake-grassroots-support/. Here's a quote from the article

"The Energy East documents outline plans to create a “grassroots” advocacy campaign on behalf of TransCanada, recruit outside voices backing the company, and investigate environmental groups seen as threats to the project.

Stewart said the documents show Edelman and TransCanada “systematically organizing what we’d call a dirty tricks campaign” typical in the U.S., but not in Canada. “We’re nice, we don’t do things like that,” Stewart said."

IP address are mostly dynamic now so the advertisers may be able determine the provider such as Comcast and possibly some information of the geographical area.

That is real time IP, so that they can target ad's to the location. They don't track them, and certainly would not disclose them to the company being discussed.

FYI, if you read this sites privacy policy you will find that they share ip addresses with advertisers on the site.

This sounds is too familiar in regards to the way things operate here. Basically they get paid to lie. "This type of campaign work is not new for Edelman" "Bloggers to promote without disclosing that the company was paying them" "A campaign designed to look like it came from ordinary citizens, but was in fact..." "Many of the documents appear to be part of a pitch .... to hire Edelman for the project" "It also includes a plan to work with third parties to pressure opponents" "Show Edelman ...systematically organizing what we’d call a dirty tricks campaign”

Sadly you can bet they've poured over posts looking for give aways regarding identities, probably contacted the site's hosts for IP addresses, etc. might want to think about finding a good anonymizer folks!
