ECMC should bring back high school presenters ASAP

There is still time left this school year to bring back high school presenters to generate student interest for the July and August start. I've talked to high school teachers in my territory and they are thrilled to hear that the sale was finally announced and that ECMC will operate as a non profit. My phone has been ringing off the hook asking me to come present at their high schools

You idiots don't realize most of your leads originated as HS lead. Then were sourced differently depending on what marketing team touched them next. Without the HS team in place you will see a huge decrease in leads overall. F***tards.

yes 321 we have all heard Jacks oft-repeated example of some student schooling some hapless questioner on the time-value of money and her time to completion. Even a superficial analysis proves the student tragically wrong. Also, Jacks wait list stats go back to 2010. Take a look at what they are now.

The high school department at Everest was terrible! Bad reputation with teachers and schools, boring and irrelevant presentations for classroom use, and total mismanagement of resources. They spent millions on outdated iPads, had multiple layers of worthless middle management, and failed to generate enough leads or enrollments to break even on the investment. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Nursing for me is a perfect example where career Colleges tend to do better even than CCs, no unreasonable waiting lists as compared to CCs, Dental assisting is another good example.

316: So what career programs does Everest offer that you can't find at CCs? BTW, the costs of CCs are pennies on the dollar compared to Everest costs.

297 and 299, are those years spend at cc free? No. With really good advice some students actually save money and time by coming straight to us. Quite frankly depending on how my own children's academic outlook is as they approach college, I can see myself in good conscience suggesting a career college, of course not to one like our Colleges had become, I hope ECMC comes in with some positive changes.

High school students need to spend some time in a Community College before going to a career college - trade school. They need a good base of liberal arts courses before learning auto mechanics. This is one of the great problems with trade schools - limited worldly knowledge.

293: I agree! There is a segment of the population for whom CCi and its ilk are a good choice. But remember we are talking about high school students here, not those that tried a CC and failed. When CCi and its ilk go after high school students who have never tried a CC, it is not being done with the students' best interest in mind. It is for profits. And the practice obviates the baseline culture of CCi and its ilk: pursuing profits at the expense of others.

286 do you realize some of the students have already been to cc and flunked out, and yes some of them do well with us. I already know your next argument, and I will answer it right now, there is a population that we can rightly serve. This is why we can still exist even after such a close scrutinization from those who have the power to completely shut us down.

Difficult to believe as it may be, there is a population for which our schools are the best shot at "success". I am from a family of seven and there are 3 of my siblings I recommended private colleges. We are not all meant to go to Havard...

I find it very hard to believe that high school teachers or counselors would be "thrilled" to have CCi present. I call total BS on the OP.

Oh dear God NO! Everest is a LAST RESORT, not a first resort. I believe in the mission of making education obtainable for all, but to go after high school students before they have exhausted less expensive resources is unconscionable. SHAME on you vultures who think otherwise. You and your ilk are despicable parasites. You are the ones making this model unethical - because you are unethical.

Those high school reps would sign up and start one student each a month and be told how they saved the world. Total waste of resources.

Our lead flow is totally depleted and has been non existent since our HS Presenter was let go in Sept. The only advise I would have for ECMC is bring back our HS Presenter ASAP! And there is no need to have them report to a different division management team. No need for a Regional support structure for our HS Presenter, total waist of money. Have the HS Presenter report directly to the campus president at each individual campus. The money they save can be used for increased salaries, marketing supplies and community involvement and sponsorship in the local high school territory they are working in. Also, no need for separate HS Admissions Reps. Just issue the high school leads to current campus Admissions Reps.
