Any word on any of the CA schools and/or the Cal AG?

Everyone that is stating their opinion as a fact about the AG forcing CCI to file BK is forgetting that if they are forced to file then everyone loses. There isn't upside to this.

The AG can tell the DOE to "stuff it" all she wants, but that won't forgive student debt. Worst case the CA schools will do a teach out. DOE is not going to forgive all that debt. Maybe she has some other angle.

@845. The CA AG has told the DOE in so many words to "stuff it". She is planning on running for "bigger and better" things and could care less about what the DOE thinks.

841, you have a good point and I agree with you. I do think though, that while she is out for blood and wants CCI's head on a platter, I believe she will ultimately feel the pressure from the DOE to grant indemnification to the new buyer of Heald as well as whoever purchases the rest of Everest's CA schools, then continue her pursuit of CCI. I don't think blocking the sale would be good for her, especially since I thought I read on here she has aspirations of running for Governor. Others on here are saying she will force CCI into BK and look like the savior and I do not agree. I have articles that state the DOE is not, and has never been in favor of BK because they will then have to forgive millions of dollars in federal loans and they do not want to do that. I think the political fallout from her party and the DOE would be horrible for her if she will not shift her position.

CA AG has too much invested in the case and won't settle for chump change.

814 - thanks for your opinion. We all have one and you are entitled to yours. May I ask what you are basing it on?

CA AG won't settle the case. Everest in CA and Heald will be taught out.

Sad that the CA AG would destroy Wyotech for a campaign talking point. I hope the thousands of Employees of CCI remember her on election day. She is just trying to make a name for herself. JOB KILLER is what she deserves... For the couple of hundred felons she thinks will vote for her LOL

716 has a good point and you might be right about CCI filing BK down the road, but I just don't see the DOE being in favor of having to forgive the millions of dollars in student loans. My feeling is that she will ultimately let the sale go through but continue going after CCI.

Agreed! 716 is correct.

CA AG has no intention of letting the litigation sit with CCI , they are filing bankruptcy eventually anyway. CA AG plan is to force CCI into BK , then all the student loans are forgiven, she then looks like a rock star and of lots of votes when she runs for governor in 3 years. CA AG will not relent, she didn't even with the DOE pestering her to back off.

I agree, I have a feeling a deal will be reached the the AG's office to leave the litigation with CCI and allow a buyer to take Heald. It just makes good business and political sense.

Yes, stupid AG left CCI with all the profitable campuses and ECMC bought all the trash.
