Why is it that some people's immediate reaction is to pounce on people that express a differing opinion or view, or ask what they would consider to be a "stupid" question?

Why is it that some people's immediate impulse is to keep pounding on the Enter key instead of waiting a few seconds to see if their post goes through? Is it computer illiteracy, do you think, or simply jack-assiness?
