904: That's quite the syllogistic logic exercise you've posed. After doing the math, I get to a grand total of 6. That is of course provided all historical Heald data is destroyed, which it won't be.

Unintended consequences if Kamala puts Heald out of business:

Heald has been regionally accredited since 1983 or 1984, which means that, at minimum, 4-year colleges will evaluate units earned since that date for transferability. I would estimate (conservatively) that since that time there are over 200,000 students, graduates, and/or drop students who have earned some transferable units. If the college were to be shut down without developing a system to issue transcripts across three states, four computer systems, and countless hard copy transcripts, then all former students would be educationally stranded. Not only that, but the infrastructure needed to facilitate the evaluation of transcripts by the receiving school (availability of old catalogs or course outlines; access to individuals with institutional memory) would be eviscerated. The closing of the college would impact many more people than simply the current students. Additionally, because Heald College carries one institutional accreditation across three states, Kamala's decisions impact current and former students in Hawaii and Oregon. As a California taxpayer, I am simply stunned that Kamala appears to have the power to shutter a 150 year old institution without proving one single allegation in a court of law. I have been critical of CCi since they day they acquired Heald College (and been reprimanded for it). But that does not mean it's right, fair, or lawful for the state's elected attorney general to close a college without formal due process. Let's hope it doesn't come to this. If Kamala succeeds in closing the college, I can find another job. But I wonder how a student will request a transcript from 1990, or how a CSU campus will locate an old course outline?

900: if your case were the rule and not the exception CCi default rates would not be so dismal.

887: You obviously have no idea what you are talking about? Mountains of debt? My program goes for about 25,000 and they make 22-24 hr when they get out. You cannot even buy a car for that amount! Just keep drinking the kool-aid

Sorry, but Heald credits transfer. And as an instructor I can say that the majority of students benefited from their education.

The best thing that could happen to those students is a CCi bankruptcy resulting debt forgiveness rather than worthless degrees and mountains of debt. ED should be ashamed for the ECMC deal; Harris and staff should be proud in doing the right thing for students who were duped with CCi lies.

Nothing like screwing 20,000 students to make a name for yourself.. I hope when Kamala runs for Governor this comes back to bite her. But keeping poor people poor and on government assistance is a good way to keep Democratic votes (more handouts please).. Well that and welcoming all illegal aliens.. thats right ILLEGAL
