Or a loan institution like ECMC who is looking to break into a stronger educational foothold and is Regionally accredited. They can buy the company for the loans and start the educational realm with established programs, sidestep the legality BS by spreading the regional accreditation across them. This rules out any job placement restrictions, career services, or shady recruiting tactics since Regional schools and non-profits are not subject to those laws.

Lets see, who would want Everest? Here are some prominent "assets": Messed up business model that sounds like a storage shed. Leadership that intentionally creates divisions between employees and groups who might collaborate if allowed to do so. Students who can't read before or after they max out their Financial Aid. Faculty who have been beaten into submission. Student Services folks who came back from furlough and did their best in spite of the stink. Some buyers might have the stomach for some of this nonsense. But the criminals who are trying to broker this deal will fail every stakeholder still standing.

They have to announce if a sale is a done deal, so it's not done.
If a sale is known now, then why wouldn't COCO executives announce it now? Waiting two or three weeks sounds silly, especially when shareholders have been through some much torture and loss.
The announcement is planned for mid November. Originally for early November but pushed out a few weeks.

Great news. Our pseudo school is getting purchased by another entity that isn't is the business of education. More idiots to service idiots. This isn't good news.
