A degree from Everest is a negative on a resume. Whether you are a student, employee, instructor, manager, director, or executive. Every time I read the trash on this board it reaffirms my belief. I will give the taxpayer fraud angle a rest for the present.

No one and I mean no one would say truthfully that an Everest Degree is equal even to the worst state college or community college. Business does not even recognize them as of any value. You would be better not having it as it shows businesses that you couldn't cut it at a real college and they don't want that type of employee. Can you get a job in spite of the degree, the answer is yes, but it is an up hill battle. Better you go to any state school. Government does value them for promotion, etc but that has always been a bad policy, government values ANY college degree for promotion, etc. It is why we have the type of government employees we do have.

Wait - there's a problem with that story. The title refers to college degrees, but Everest isn't a real college and the degree is just pretend.

As the saying goes, there's a sucker born every minute. That's about 1440 potential new CCI students every day. Hmm. Maybe we have a future after all.

It still boggles my mind where these "new students" come from...how does Everest keep finding these students?

This is still all old news. Everyone with sense knows that CCI runs pretend colleges. The only people who don't already know about this are the same people who get lost on the way from their bedroom to their bathroom.

You said it 005, a student can graduate with a C average and less than outstanding attendance. Believe me, I see this everyday. The students that do just enough to squeak by, then have a hard time finding good employment. Most employers I talk with are looking for the students with outstanding attendance because that proves they will be at work every day. If a school has a true placement rate of 75% that means a graduate still has a 25% chance they won't be placed. It's up to the student which group they land in. I would always ask my students on the first day of class who is responsible for their education. I would get about the same response every time, 75% would say they were responsible for their own education and 25% would say they school or the instructors were. Now you guess who were the most successful students.

981, the reporter verified with the Everest representative that Johnson graduated in good standing. In other words, she had a GPA high enough to graduate. We all know that students who show up breathing are given at the very minimum a C, almost always an A or B. A 3.0+ GPA should be an indication of an excellent student with good work/study habits, but an honor roll (or whatever it's called these days) student from a Corinthian school is meaningless.

The date on the article is today. It may be old news to us that Corinthian degrees are worthless, but that news is getting broadcast by more and more sources. People who may not have otherwise gotten the message may be more likely to hear it.

Why do people find it so important to post old news links here? I've never once seen the articles contain the student's grade or attendance. Could it be these students that complain about not finding a job had poor grades and attendance?

Absolutely shocking...oh wait, no it isn't. Funny how this is not even news yet there are new students enrolled every term. Where are they getting these students from? How far does the barrel go to get to the bottom?
