Thread regarding L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. layoffs

L-3 CSE Camden, NJ questions

I was laid off years ago and moved away and lost touch w/ folks. Can someone please answer some Q's?

  1. How many people are at Camden facility now?

  2. Will more layoffs occur 1st Q 2015?

  3. Is Lockheed Martin leasing space from L-3 in Camden, NJ?

  4. Any rumors on Lockheed buying CSE?

So who did they send these emails to? The NJ dept of unemployment? I knew all the people affected (well, three of them at least). The one guy not of retirement age had been hanging by a thread for a couple years but I understand he has found something else. I think it would be quite the legal case if you could show that managers sent out incriminating emails.

Oh yes. They definitely ordered the lower managers (who did not do the firing) to send the emails claiming the terminated employee voluntarily left.

they send emails to everyone about how this person chose voluntarily to quit (break) wish I could put a newline here \n(break) what is this? In the past two or three years CS-E has terminated four people for "performance" thus avoiding the usual severance package. Three of these individuals were of full retirement age, one was not. But I never heard of sending emails saying they voluntarily lefy. NJ has fairly liberal (sic) policies governing receipt of unemployment but this sounds like bad juju.

FYI: L-3 Camden have gotten more "aggressive" regarding removing employees; They now fire people who would have been layed off in the past. Sometimes it is a surprise to the employee, more often they "tire/exhaust" the employees prior to their termination . Upon firing them, they "offer" them the option; "You should quit. It would be 'better' that way". If the poor fool takes the "quitting" option, they send emails to everyone about how this person chose voluntarily to quit.

42 is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything. 42 is not the number of CSE Camden employees left (yet).

I have heard that they were recently at about 700 people and want to get down to 500 in the near future.
