we have heard through the rumor mill that we will be facing our layoffs tomorrow. (Fri) I am an original Pathfinder guy who got sucked into the big blue and it sucks. There is only a handful of us that have made it to this point but I really wonder if we'll make it through this. we have heard a 20% reduction and also a 15% this month 20% next month and 30% in march. I can't understand why they can't be upfront with us and try and help with the issues. everyone in our shop would be very willing to cut our own hours and try and not have to face layoffs, but hell no big blue would rather have massive layoffs and rehire everyone in 6 moths. SLB fails at most of the things they try due to poor timing and execution. Best to stay away from this pile of garbage.
Missed those Cameron days where trust on their employees was very Awesome. SLB is all about people who can talk very good but worse as a worker in the field. They flattered their manager and never get fired on anything they do wrong. Those people always smoke with their manager and you will find them sitting in managers office for hours. SLB love back stabber. They promote people who do that. SLB don't want employees friendship. Their rat out system (Observation/Intervention/Reporting system is design for that. All reviews against SLB that you are just a number is very true. Meanest corporate greedy company you will ever work with,Hard worker and people who follow company procedures suffer most.
They even betrayed their frac employees to cut off 15% of the employees salaries and they will not lay off any one. Guess what as soon as people agreed to cut off 15%. they lay off people with in one month.
Harassment by unprofessional managers/supervisors on daily basis in the morning safety meeting of your job loss. If you are competent, they overwork you; while the incompetent sit idle. I doubt that they will get many jobs in the future. They undervalue good employees.
I regret working with SLB wasted my precious years of my life with a peace of garbage company.
SLB took Pathfinder and flushed it down the sh!tter. They bought Pathfinder to increase client relations because Pathfinder was like a family both to clients and personnel. As usual SLB molded Pathfinder into the big blue and killed her in one year.

OK here is the real deal, I have been working on a new project with some of my peps from lSD (SLB?) It's called down hole directional monkeys surveying extravaganza. This is a project where we send live monkeys down the drill string to respond with actual live real time data to the field engineer.. Let me know if you want in on the ground floor.

I know, and for the legacy guys that have made it this far we have went with the flow and done everything we could to make the transition. All I know is that if I'm let go I would never work for SLB again. It's stressful enough to work in this industry with the up's and downs, I sure don't need a secretive company to make it worse.
if you come from legacy company then you are probably high on the list - they didn't want legacy people running the business who may challenge the schlumbertrons
