Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

was just a matter of time....what a waste of money

skift.com reports...... Expedia may be poised to take the next step with Travelocity — an outright acquisition instead of the mere operational outsourcing agreement that currently exists.

This will be interesting, acquisitions never end up nicely. There will be a very small number of folks from Travelocity who will adjust well, the rest (especially management) will leave over next few years if not pushed out outright.

Please, all of the Travelocity folks that were offered jobs with Expedia keep your eyes and ears open for signs. Been through acquisitions a number of times and it isn't pretty. They may open an office to house everyone but they can just as easily shut it down once they have what they need from you. Thrilled that they have the morals to not throw everyone away but think of the contract... will retain the employees for the minimum of x number of months. Expedia already has an office in Dallas with the expertise that they need.
