Thread regarding DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. layoffs

Lawyer up

Anyone know the legalities of laying off American workers before those on Visas? Have a feeling this could get ugly.

India doesn't really matter in all of this. So please stop typing. India is a much lower class in this discussion. Please and thanks.

They are normally the first to go. Specially minorities. For example, If You Are indian, SINGLE AND With visa...You Are done. Not the same that if you are white Canadian with family on a visa. There is a high level of racism already. it's hard to press more on it

"In fact, the law is very well designed to say that you have to treat H-1Bs the same as U.S. citizens in all regards," Of course it is, the very best laws money can buy.

In the case of PDI it was the whole company. No use trying to get rid of visa holders first. Plus it's not the PDI way. We don't through our friends under the bus.

well then, once they get laid off, those with visa's tied to working at Dreamworks will have to leave the country. it happens to us all the time in other countries.

You are out of luck. Only a sense of compassion from DWA would protect US citizens, so you can forget about that.
