Death, Taxes, and your satisfaction when shopping at Men's Warehouse.
Oil Pumper (West Texas), it just so happens that I live really close to Tomball and also work in the industry. Current predictions by real estate analysts have Houston area homes taking a 10-12% hit in value in 2015 alone due to the loss of jobs in the area. Like you, I too am at risk of getting a pink slip on any given day now. Unfortunately that is the gamble that we all take when choosing to work in this industry. When it really comes down to it, the only guaranteed things in life are death and taxes.............
Hey Anonymous59843 here is something to watch when you are bored. http://www.khou.com/story/news/local/2015/01/22/community-preparing-for-baker-hughes-layoffs-in-tomball/22190557/
And it will get worse for all in the oilfield so make all the jokes you can. Pink slips for everyone will kill the laughter!
Anonymous59843 - that's funny
I don't work for BHI amd I didn't even know there was a SubSea shop in Lubbock. I made it all up out of boredom and to make the point that a lot of what you hear on this forum is not necessarily the truth............
hahaha. good one - scare crow... what kind of work do you do at the SubSea shop in Lubbock? just curious, i am in corp admin
42.5 people will be cut from the SubSea shop in Lubbock. The .5 will come from the shop manager who is over compensated for the amount of work that he performs on any given day. As a result, BHI is planning to lay him off and replace him with a life like scare crow that will sit behind the desk and pretend to do work on the computer. The scare crow will draw a 50% managerial salary, will not require any health benefits, and has agreed to work 168 hours per week.
